Calgon Carbon plans to acquire CECA activated carbon business.

The US-based parent company of Chemviron Carbon, Calgon Carbon Corporation (NYSE: CCC), plans to acquire the European wood-based activated carbon and filter aid business of CECA, a subsidiary of Arkema Group, in a transaction valued at €145.5 million.

 

The deal, which is due ot be completed in Q4 2016, will add complementary wood-based activated carbon manufacturing capabilty to CCC's existing product porfolio, as well as extending Chemviron Carbon's geographical reactivation capacity in Europe.
