Poich\u00e9 molti di questi hanno un basso punto di ebollizione, che permette loro di evaporare in normali condizioni atmosferiche indoor di temperatura e pressione, diventano quindi sostanze chimiche volatili.  <\/span><\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color\" style=\"color: #02538b; font-size: 23px;\"><strong>Perch\u00e9 i Composti Organici Volatili sono un problema? <\/strong><\/h2><p>Per cominciare, molte operazioni manifatturiere come la produzione di sostanze chimiche, prodotti farmaceutici o processi di rivestimento o stampa, utilizzano questi composti organici come solventi o prodotti chimici reattivi. In questi casi, evaporano o vaporizzano facilmente nei <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chemviron.eu\/it\/applicazioni\/emissioni-industriali\/\" rel=\"noopener\">flussi d&#8217;aria di scarico<\/a> dei processi produttivi e possono essere rilasciati nell&#8217;aria esausta come Composti Organici Volatili (COV). <\/p><p>Inoltre, molti processi di gestione dei rifiuti rilasciano questi COV nell&#8217;aria. In aggiunta, all&#8217;interno degli edifici, tali vapori possono anche essere rilasciati nell&#8217;aria dall&#8217;uso di prodotti e materiali contenenti COV. <\/p><p>Di conseguenza, i COV destano preoccupazione come inquinanti dell&#8217;aria sia indoor che outdoor, poich\u00e9 l&#8217;esposizione ad essi pu\u00f2 avere un impatto negativo sulla salute umana. Nell&#8217;ambiente pi\u00f9 vasto, possono creare smog fotochimico in determinate condizioni. <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color\" style=\"color: #02538b; font-size: 23px;\"><strong>Normative Europee sulle Emissioni<\/strong><\/h2><p>L&#8217;Unione Europea lavora costantemente per ridurre l&#8217;inquinamento a livelli che proteggano la salute, stabilendo regole pi\u00f9 severe per affrontare l&#8217;inquinamento alla fonte. Nello specifico, \u00e8 prevista una revisione della <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/en\/press\/press-releases\/2023\/11\/29\/industrial-emissions-council-and-parliament-agree-on-new-rules-to-reduce-harmful-emissions-from-industry-and-improve-public-access-to-information\/\">direttiva sulle emissioni industriali<\/a> (IED) e del regolamento sull&#8217;istituzione di un portale sulle emissioni industriali (IEP). <\/p><p>Ad esempio, l&#8217;UE ha recentemente pubblicato la nuova <a href=\"https:\/\/environment.ec.europa.eu\/topics\/industrial-emissions-and-safety\/industrial-and-livestock-rearing-emissions-directive-ied-20_en\">Direttiva sulle emissioni industriali e dell&#8217;allevamento di bestiame 2024\/1785<\/a> (IED 2.0) come strumento principale per ridurre le emissioni e prevenire la generazione di rifiuti da grandi impianti industriali e allevamenti intensivi (suini e pollame). Essa modifica la Direttiva 2010\/75\/UE.  <\/p><p>La IED 2.0, che <a href=\"https:\/\/environment.ec.europa.eu\/news\/revised-industrial-emissions-directive-enters-force-2024-08-02_en\">\u00e8 entrata in vigore il 4 agosto 2024<\/a>, mira a ridurre al minimo l&#8217;impatto dell&#8217;inquinamento sulla salute delle persone e sull&#8217;ambiente. Inoltre, punta a snellire il rilascio delle autorizzazioni tramite il nuovo Regolamento sul Portale delle Emissioni Industriali, che migliorer\u00e0 l&#8217;accesso ai dati ambientali. <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color\" style=\"color: #02538b; font-size: 23px;\"><strong>COV e Carbone Attivo<\/strong><\/h2><p>Quando si tratta di affrontare le emissioni di COV, il carbone attivo \u00e8 particolarmente efficace perch\u00e9 la maggior parte dei COV sono organici e quindi vengono facilmente adsorbiti su di esso. Durante questo processo, queste molecole gassose si attaccano e si concentrano sulla superficie del carbone, legandosi all&#8217;interno dei suoi pori. <\/p><p><span class=\"cf0\">Il carbone attivo rimuove efficacemente i COV dall&#8217;aria e, nella maggior parte dei casi, possiamo riciclarlo tramite la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chemviron.eu\/solutions\/reactivation\/\">riattivazione<\/a> per il riutilizzo.<\/span> Pertanto, questa capacit\u00e0 di riattivare o riciclare il carbone attivo lo rende una soluzione economica e sostenibile per rimuovere i COV dall&#8217;aria.<\/p><p>A supporto di questo approccio, esiste una serie di documenti di riferimento UE sulle <a href=\"http:\/\/eippcb.jrc.ec.europa.eu\/reference\">Migliori Tecniche Disponibili<\/a> (BAT\/BREF) sviluppati per descrivere i processi industriali e le migliori tecniche disponibili per il controllo dell&#8217;inquinamento derivante dalle attivit\u00e0 industriali. <span class=\"cf0\">L&#8217;adsorbimento su carbone attivo \u00e8 tra queste migliori pratiche.<\/span> <\/p><p>Ad esempio, i rapporti \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/eippcb.jrc.ec.europa.eu\/reference\/common-waste-water-and-waste-gas-treatmentmanagement-systems-chemical-sector-0\">Common Waste Gas Management and Treatment Systems in the Chemical Sector<\/a>\u201d e \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/eippcb.jrc.ec.europa.eu\/reference\/surface-treatment-using-organic-solvents-including-wood-and-wood-products-preservation\">Surface Treatment Using Organic Solvents including Wood and Wood Products Preservation with Chemicals<\/a>\u201d sono due lunghi documenti di riferimento politico che riguardano maggiormente le emissioni di COV dai processi rimossi utilizzando il carbone attivo? <\/strong><\/h2><p> <\/p><p>Il carbone attivo, in tutte le sue forme, ha un&#8217;eccellente capacit\u00e0 di adsorbimento per un&#8217;ampia gamma di COV dall&#8217;aria. Tuttavia, per la rimozione pi\u00f9 efficace delle impurit\u00e0, possono essere necessari diversi tipi di carbone, a seconda della combinazione di inquinanti, ad esempio se si tratta di un&#8217;impurit\u00e0 o di un composto organico o inorganico. Molti di questi inquinanti possono anche essere rimossi efficacemente da flussi gassosi diversi dall&#8217;aria, come l&#8217;azoto o l&#8217;anidride carbonica (CO<span style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 0;
