Dado que muchos de ellos tienen un punto de ebullici\u00f3n bajo, lo que permite que se evaporen en condiciones atmosf\u00e9ricas normales de temperatura y presi\u00f3n en interiores, se convierten en productos qu\u00edmicos vol\u00e1tiles.  <\/span><\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color\" style=\"color: #02538b; font-size: 23px;\"><strong>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 preocupan los compuestos org\u00e1nicos vol\u00e1tiles? <\/strong><\/h2><p>Para empezar, muchas operaciones de fabricaci\u00f3n, como la producci\u00f3n de productos qu\u00edmicos, farmac\u00e9uticos o los procesos de recubrimiento o impresi\u00f3n, utilizan estos compuestos org\u00e1nicos como disolventes o productos qu\u00edmicos reactivos. En estos casos, se evaporan o vaporizan f\u00e1cilmente en los <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chemviron.eu\/es\/aplicaciones\/emisiones-atmosfericas-industriales\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flujos de aire de escape<\/a> de los procesos de producci\u00f3n y pueden liberarse al aire de salida como compuestos org\u00e1nicos vol\u00e1tiles (COV). <\/p><p>Adem\u00e1s, muchos procesos de manipulaci\u00f3n de residuos tambi\u00e9n liberan estos COV al aire. Asimismo, en el interior de los edificios, estos vapores tambi\u00e9n pueden liberarse al aire por el uso de productos y materiales que contienen COV. <\/p><p>Como resultado, los COV suscitan preocupaci\u00f3n como contaminantes del aire tanto en interiores como en exteriores, ya que la exposici\u00f3n a ellos puede afectar negativamente a la salud humana. En el medio ambiente en general, pueden crear niebla fotoqu\u00edmica (smog) bajo ciertas condiciones. <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color\" style=\"color: #02538b; font-size: 23px;\"><strong>Normativa europea sobre emisiones<\/strong><\/h2><p>La Uni\u00f3n Europea trabaja continuamente para reducir la contaminaci\u00f3n a niveles que protejan la salud mediante el establecimiento de normas m\u00e1s estrictas para abordar la contaminaci\u00f3n en su origen. Espec\u00edficamente, se prev\u00e9 una revisi\u00f3n de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/en\/press\/press-releases\/2023\/11\/29\/industrial-emissions-council-and-parliament-agree-on-new-rules-to-reduce-harmful-emissions-from-industry-and-improve-public-access-to-information\/\">Directiva sobre emisiones industriales<\/a> (DEI) y del reglamento sobre la creaci\u00f3n de un Portal de Emisiones Industriales (PEI). <\/p><p>Por ejemplo, la UE ha publicado recientemente la nueva <a href=\"https:\/\/environment.ec.europa.eu\/topics\/industrial-emissions-and-safety\/industrial-and-livestock-rearing-emissions-directive-ied-20_en\">Directiva 2024\/1785 sobre emisiones industriales y de cr\u00eda de ganado<\/a> (DEI 2.0) como instrumento principal para reducir las emisiones y prevenir la generaci\u00f3n de residuos de grandes instalaciones industriales y granjas ganaderas intensivas (porcino y aves de corral). Esta modifica la Directiva 2010\/75\/UE.  <\/p><p>La DEI 2.0, que <a href=\"https:\/\/environment.ec.europa.eu\/news\/revised-industrial-emissions-directive-enters-force-2024-08-02_en\">entr\u00f3 en vigor el 4 de agosto de 2024<\/a>, busca minimizar el impacto de la contaminaci\u00f3n en la salud de las personas y el medio ambiente. Adem\u00e1s, pretende agilizar la concesi\u00f3n de permisos a trav\u00e9s del nuevo Reglamento del Portal de Emisiones Industriales, que mejorar\u00e1 el acceso a los datos medioambientales. <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color\" style=\"color: #02538b; font-size: 23px;\"><strong>Los COV y el carb\u00f3n activo<\/strong><\/h2><p>A la hora de abordar las emisiones de COV, el carb\u00f3n activo es especialmente eficaz porque la mayor\u00eda de los COV son org\u00e1nicos y, por tanto, se adsorben f\u00e1cilmente en \u00e9l. Durante este proceso, estas mol\u00e9culas gaseosas se adhieren y se concentran en la superficie del carb\u00f3n, quedando ligadas dentro de sus poros. <\/p><p><span class=\"cf0\">El carb\u00f3n activo elimina eficazmente los COV del aire y, la mayor\u00eda de las veces, podemos reciclarlo mediante la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chemviron.eu\/es\/soluciones\">reactivaci\u00f3n<\/a> para su reutilizaci\u00f3n.<\/span> Por lo tanto, esta capacidad de reactivar o reciclar el carb\u00f3n activo lo convierte en una soluci\u00f3n rentable y sostenible para eliminar los COV del aire.<\/p><p>En apoyo de este enfoque, existe una serie de documentos de referencia de la UE sobre las <a href=\"http:\/\/eippcb.jrc.ec.europa.eu\/reference\">Mejores T\u00e9cnicas Disponibles<\/a> (BREF) desarrollados para describir los procesos industriales y las mejores t\u00e9cnicas disponibles para controlar la contaminaci\u00f3n de las actividades industriales. <span class=\"cf0\">La adsorci\u00f3n en carb\u00f3n activo se encuentra entre estas mejores pr\u00e1cticas.<\/span> <\/p><p>Por ejemplo, los informes \u00ab<a href=\"https:\/\/eippcb.jrc.ec.europa.eu\/reference\/common-waste-water-and-waste-gas-treatmentmanagement-systems-chemical-sector-0\">Sistemas comunes de gesti\u00f3n y tratamiento de gases residuales en el sector qu\u00edmico<\/a>\u00bb y \u00ab<a href=\"https:\/\/eippcb.jrc.ec.europa.eu\/reference\/surface-treatment-using-organic-solvents-including-wood-and-wood-products-preservation\">Tratamiento de superficies con disolventes org\u00e1nicos, 1rem;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>El carb\u00f3n activo, en todas sus formas, tiene una excelente capacidad de adsorci\u00f3n para una amplia gama de COV del aire. Sin embargo, para la eliminaci\u00f3n de impurezas m\u00e1s eficaz, pueden ser necesarios diferentes tipos de carb\u00f3n, dependiendo de la combinaci\u00f3n de contaminantes, como si se trata de una impureza o compuesto org\u00e1nico o inorg\u00e1nico. Muchos de estos contaminantes tambi\u00e9n pueden eliminarse eficazmente de corrientes gaseosas distintas del aire, como el nitr\u00f3geno o el di\u00f3xido de carbono (CO<span style=\"font-size: 12px;
